It is in our nature to share our knowledge.
As a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE), we are in a key position between research and industry.
As an industrial company, you have the opportunity to benefit first and foremost from research results by participating in one of our research projects.
BiFlex-Industrie is dedicated to the benefits of regenerative vehicle fleets for industrial companies. The aim is to integrate these fleets into existing systems and use them as a nucleus for energy-efficient fleet power plants. This should improve both the companies' operating processes and their interaction with the higher-level electricity system. The project focuses on technical, economic, regulatory and normative interoperability of the components and works closely with users at eight company locations to implement various generic use cases for bidirectional charging. ENIT supervises three case studies with other project partners
Timeframe: ongoing (2024-2026)

The EMIDOS research project aims to simplify the installation of local generation systems at industrial companies and increase their energy efficiency by optimizing the grid infrastructure. For these purposes, four software packages are being developed in the project with the involvement of two real laboratories, including AI-based status estimation of the grid infrastructure, identification of grid and transformer losses and harmonics, as well as optimization of reactive power exchange in the customer system.

The overall objective of the joint project "FlexGUIde - Toolset for low-threshold participation of SMEs in the energy market of the future" is to research and apply communication technologies and methods of digitalization and artificial intelligence in order to provide SMEs with low-threshold access to the energy market of the future. FlexGUIde picks up on research results from previous projects (in particular the project "GaIN - Profitable participation of SMEs in the energy market of the future") with the aim of short to medium-term implementation.

The aim of the project was to provide medium-sized industrial companies with a cost-effective and efficient power supply with the help of storage systems. In this research project, ENIT provided the data basis from suitable application partners.
Companies that took part in this research project agreed to allow measurements and analyses to be carried out at their premises. Their added value was the free energy monitoring equipment provided by ENIT as well as a sound basis for deciding whether the use of a storage system in their company is worthwhile.

The aim of the project was to enable companies to actively and profitably participate in the energy market of the future through the digitalization of (medium-sized) industry. As a basis, real laboratories were established in medium-sized industrial companies and innovative electricity products for SMEs were designed on the basis of local energy management data.

Are you interested in PV self-consumption optimization or do you have any questions? Then please contact us.
Tools and algorithms for the digital implementation of efficient PV project planning were developed as part of this project. By using measurement data, image data, energy technology models and AI, a digital twin has been created for accelerated project planning of PV systems in small and medium-sized enterprises. The results are now available in the PV calculator in the ENIT Hub.
